Build a SITKA layering system
Read our guide to layering technical clothing for New Zealand hunting conditions.
Lightweight technical tops and sun hoodies for active outdoor use. Breathable next-to-skin layers that manage heat and moisture, with hooded options for face and neck coverage on exposed days.
SITKA is built as a system. Start with the conditions you spend the most time in.
The piece you wear walking in matters most. Choose breathable and light — you can always add warmth on top.
Glassing, cold starts, slow stalking and sitting need warmth that packs down. Insulation is easier to carry than to do without.
Sustained rain needs a waterproof outer. Showers and wind need something lighter, and more breathable.
Layers should fit over each other without binding. A shell that is tight over a mid layer restricts movement where you need it.
